Riverside Nursery : Bega Valley Work Crew : Stitches and Prints : Eligibility
Riverside Nursery, the Bega Valley Workcrew, and Stitches & Prints are Accredited business services offering supported employment and vocational training for people with a disability.
Three business services provide reliable, high profile work opportunities; with employees working along side experienced managers, supervisors, nursery and workcrew staff, screen printers and machinists, and volunteers and community workers.Employees receive an agreed minimum wage, in line with the Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Union (LHMU) Supported Employment Services Award 2005, which reflects progression toward a full Award wage.
Employee’s wage rates are reviewed every three years, using the BSWAT (busines service wage assessment tool), by the Commonwealth Rehabilitation Service (CRS), and once a year by Tulgeen Group.
As well as working with supervisors on-the-job, each business service has a Training Officer who works with individual employees on increasing their skills and knowledge.
All employees also have a Workplace Keyworker who works with them as part of an individual planning process to develop a Work Plan. Work Plans are aimed at giving employees choice and support in developing strategies to increase their vocational skills and knowledge.
Employees are provided with appropriate and safe workplace amenities, facilities and equipment which meet all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) obligations as well as compliance with the Safework Checklist.
Employees are also given the opportunity to learn about OHS and their rights and responsibilities at work during Disability Service Standard training, on-the-job training and at workplace meetings.
