Business Development & Marketing

The position of Business Development and Marketing Officer emanated from funding provided by the Department of Family, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FACSIA) under the Business Services Assistance Programme (BSAP).

Due to the enormous benefits created through this position, Tulgeen Group has continued with it as a permanent role within the organisation.  The underlying theme for the position is to help create the environment for the business services to be self funding.

Business Development and Marketing focuses on:

  • promoting the business services and Tulgeen Group as a whole,
  • exploring new opportunities to expand the services offered by the business services,
  • identifying new customers and markets for the products and services of the business services, and
  • sourcing funding for the benefit of the business services and their employees.

In the past 18 months this position has facilitated Tulgeen Group:

  • attending regular market days and community events such as Bermagui Seaside Fair and the Eden Whale Festival,
  • establishing a 12 months partnership with Bega Cheese for the packaging of a new product,
  • securing funding through the Federal Government’s Regional Partnerships programme for the construction of a ‘Package Training Facility’ to continue the Bega Cheese Partnership,
  • securing funding through the IMB Community Foundation for the expansion of the Security Shredding Service and an upgrade for Riverside Nursery, and
  • gaining sponsorship through a number of businesses supporting the Christmas Tree Project and the shredding service.
